This limited special-edition of GARY MOORE comes in a deluxe-package with poster and extensive booklet.
CD1: Corridors Of Power
“Corridors of Power” is one of the early solo-records of the former Thin Lizzy-guitarist, now including three bonus tracks. “Don’t Take Me For A Loser”, “Gonna Break My Heart Again” and “End Of The World” have become pleasant Hard Rock songs, without the later Blues- and Electronic-influences. But even the ballad-like songs, like “Always Gonna Love You” or “Falling In Love With You” are convincing.
Surely one the best early Moore records!
CD2: Run For Cover
“Run For Cover”, first published in 1985 and now with two bonus tracks added, was (and still is…) a really good record. Five producers were involved in the creation of this record: Andy Johns (e.g. Led Zeppelin, Jack Bruce, Van Halen , Free), Peter Collins (e.g. Queensryche, Jewel, Rush, Suicidal Tendencies), Beau Hill (e.g. Winger, Alice Cooper, Ratt, Warrant), Mike Stone (e.g. Queen, Asia, Danger Danger, Journey) and Gary Moore himself.
“Nothing To Lose”, “All Messed Up2 and “Out Of My System“ are the most convincing songs on this album. An emotional ballad (“Empty Rooms”), blazing Hard Rock (“Run For Cover”) and the up-tempo “Out In The Fields” give this records a satisfying overall picture.
Besides two Phil Lynott-songs (“Military Man”, “Still In Love With You”) there are also great vocal lines by Glenn Hughes, who didn’t only support Gary Moore with playing the bass, he was responsible also for the lead vocals on four tracks (sounding similar to Gary Moore’s style of singing).
Still a great record!!!
